He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Frances (Shifflett) and Roy Oliver Spitzer; his son John Hinton, Jr.; and his brother Prentise Hinton. He is survived by: his close friend Judy Shipe of Dayton; his son Jeff Hinton (Shannon) of Hiwassee, VA; his brother Larry Wayne Spitzer of Weyers Cave; his stepdaughter Tina Shipe of Dayton; his grandchildren, Ethan, Moriah and Madison Hinton; and his sister-in-law Betty Hinton.
