He is survived by: his son Jason Alderfer (Kirsten Beachy) of Dayton; his sisters, Dorcas Schaefer (Wallace) of Cumberland and Kathryn Baer (Nelson) of Newport News; and his granddaughters, Sallie and Irene Alderfer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
