He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Marie Izetta Hartman Mitchell; his former wife Loretta Vandevander Mitchell; and his brother Eddie Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Mary Mitchell (Young); his stepchildren, Larry Cook Jr., Lacinda Wine, Laura Holcomb, Lucas Cook, Tara Cook and Michael Grutter; and his siblings, James R. Mitchell, Larry Wayne Cook, Sarah E. Alt (Norman), Frances Halterman (Ronnie) and Treva Thomas (Dennis). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
