He was predeceased by: his father James Alfred Goering; and his nephew Jeremy Goering. He is survived by: his mother Ida Lois Heatwole Goering of Dayton; and his siblings, Jim Goering (Bonnie) of Spring Creek, Kathy Rhodes (Steve) of Dayton, Samuel Goering (Angela) of Dayton, Nathan Goering (Marlene) of Keysville, GA, Regina Knicely (Fred) of Linville and John Ralph Goering of Dayton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
