We are sad to announce that on January 25, 2025, at the age of 91, Willard Roscar Shelton (Danville, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Terry Shelton and Mattie Davis Shelton; his former wife Madeline Shelton; and his siblings, Henry Shelton, Howard Shelton, William Shelton, Sandrell Payne, Helen Moser, Georgia Rigney, Lyde Shelton, Bernice Marshall and Alice Douglas.
He is survived by: his brother Lillard Shelton (Christine); his daughter Lisa DeMott (Chad); his wife Esther Hall; his grandchildren, Ethan Shelton (Danielle), Mackenzie Kingston (John), Cierra Boyer (Jonas), Savannah Smith (Collen) and Gianna DeMott; and his stepgrandchildren, Christi Paige and Taylor Paige. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Townes Funeral Home (215 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post 1097.
