With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia Powell (Danville, Virginia), who passed away on March 4, 2019 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Samuels and Lola Newman Samuels; and her daughter Cynthia Rose. She is survived by: her son Kenneth Powell; her grandchildren, Jessica Myrick (Justin), Jordan Powell, Kayleigh Morgan and Dusty Rose; her great grandchildren, McKinley, Mason and Pierce; and her sister Landa James. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Humane Society, 996 South Boston Rd, Danville, VA 24540.
