It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Elaine Moxley of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ruth touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Ellis Moxley and Beulah Whitlow Moxley; and her brother Melvin Moxley. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Doris Moxley (Conroy); her niece Pattie Jo Moxley; her nephews, Tony Moxley and Scott Moxley; and her friend Bonnie Edison.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sandy Shores Baptist Church (200 Parsons St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ancora Compassionate Care in Reidsville, North Carolina, specifically "The Gibson House".
