With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Carwile Whitney (Danville, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 18, 2024 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Luther Whitney, Jr. and Virginia Colleen Moore; and also Margaret Whitney. He is survived by: his wife Linda Wright Whitney; his children, Blake Whitney (Tiffany) and Maggie Kiser (Vance); his grandchildren, Eli, Paxton, Blakely, Lincoln and Palmer; and his siblings, Billy Whitney (Darlene), Lawrence Whitney (Ceil), Allison Whitney and Cheryl Reynolds (Terry). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the United Baptist Church (3400 US-29 BUS, Danville, VA 24540).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Robert's memory.
