She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Gunter and Lizzie Lawson Gunter; and her husband Joseph Andrew Hanks, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Darrell Hanks (Selena) of Harrisburg, NC and James DeHart of Danville, VA; her grandchildren, Joseph Anderson Hanks of Harrisburg, NC and Karen Clayton of Roxboro, NC; her great grandchild Jenna Clayton of Roxboro, NC; and her sister Mildred Brooks of Brosville.
