He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Lawrence Phillips and Truly Mae Phillips; and his wife Betty Wallace Phillips. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Phillips and Kevin Phillips; his siblings, Benny Phillips (Joyce Ann) of South Boston, VA and Elsie Phillips of South Boston, VA; and his friend John Sweeney of Halifax, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
