He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hairston and Rosezell Wilson Hairston. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Hairston; his daughters, Jennifer Hairston, Melissa "Tori" Hairston and Alexis Tarpley; his stepchildren, Starrea Wilson (Tim), Mancino Craighead (Takara) and Monte Bernard (Tiffany); and his siblings, Mary Inge, Doris Keen (Elder Walter), Ola Tarpley (Kenneth), Barbara Dillard (Donald), Herbert Hairston, Jr. and Burnell Hairston. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Greater Love Ministries (906 Church St E, Martinsville, VA 24112).
