She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Gordon Haraway, Sr. and Beulah Dixon Shelton; her husband William "Bill" James Chavis; and her siblings, Dempsey Haraway, Gordon Haraway, Jr., Rachel Aragon and Rebecca Haraway.
She is survived by: her children, William James Chavis, Jr. (Sharon) of Forest and Nancy Chavis Walker (Mike) of Danville; her grandchildren, Scott Wells (Carrie), Leslie Barksdale (Skip), Lindsey Wells and Will Chavis (Katherine); her great grandchildren, Carsen, Marley, Rylee and Olivia (Livy); and her nieces, Joan Smith and Donna Aragon.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Swicegood Funeral Home (564 W Main St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
