She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Oliver Gammon and Carrie Eanes Gammon; her husband Tommie Starkey; and her siblings, Douglas Austin "Jimmy" Gammon, June Gammon Baker and Gaynell Gammon Scearce.
She is survived by: her son William Starkey; her sisters, Louise Gammon Berndt and Vernie Gammon Grogan; and her nieces and nephews, Gail Sledge, Cheryl Paige, Kaye Jameson, Jay Baker, Jimmy Gammon, Tommy Gammon, Melody Scearce, Patty Baker, Joslyn Berndt Dobson, Jenny Holley, Melissa Bray and Joey Scearce. She is also survived by 18 great-nieces and nephews and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Vandola Baptist Church (1950 Vandola Church Rd, Danville, VA 24541).
