He was predeceased by : his father Clyde Nanney; and his brothers, Sidney Grainger and Paul Granger. He is survived by : his wife Sheila Moss Morris Nanney; his children, Tracey Fulcher (Charles) of Danville, VA, Rachel Nanney of Danville, VA, Molly Nanney of Salisbury, NC, Raymond Jr. Nanney (Vicky) of Cheyenne, WY, Michael Nanney (Beverly) of High Point, NC and Sean Nanney of Danville, VA; his brother James Richard Grainger (Jo Ann); his grandchildren, Lauren Nanney, Kristen Pegram (Derek), Kaitlyn McBride (Brian), Matthew Fulcher (Emily), Justin Ray Nanney (Chelsea), Isaac V. Phippin (Ashley) and Matthew Phippin; his great grandchildren, Asher J. Nanney, Marie Nanney, Camden J. Nanney, Logan Phippin, Landon Phippin and Jordan Phippin; his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Granger and Michael Moss (Billy); and his pet Roxy Marie Nanney.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Norris Funeral Services & Crematory - Mount Hermon Chapel (3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540).
