She was predeceased by: her parents, John Holbrook and Elsie Hayes Holbrook; her husband Darriel Carico; and her daughter Deanna Carswell. She is survived by: her children, Lesia Powell (Byron) of Warrenton, Virginia and Gregory Carico (Sheila) of Nora, Virginia; and her sister Marguerite Davenport of Kingsport, Tennessee.. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one niece.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 2020 Meadowview Parkway, Suite 100, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
