It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Belle Garrett of Damascus, Virginia, who passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Reid and Fannie Belle Reid; her husband Jim Garrett; her siblings, Vance Reid and Sarah Bernice Wright; her daughter Jean Cole; and her sons-in-law, Bob Cole, Jim Dorton and Bob Copenhaver.
She is survived by: her daughters, Becky Copenhaver and Annette Dorton; her grandchildren, Jimmy Cole (Sue), Mike Cole (Jennifer), Tim Copenhaver (Carol), Cindy Crussell (Bryan) and Chris Dorton (Melissa); her nieces, Ann Gorney and Sarah Wright; her caregivers, Betty Landis and Nancy Hand; her close friends, Connie Carty and Donnie Foster; and also Todd Baker. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren.
