We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2025, at the age of 104, Ruby Gennell Mullins McConnell of Damascus, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joshua B. Mullins and Laura Chapman Mullins; her husband Harry Willis McConnell, Sr.; her daughters, Jean McConnell, Barbara Barr, Arliss Barr, Linda Hand and Peggy Carter; her stepson Harry Willis "Chopper" McConnell, Jr.; and her grandmother Ruby.
She is survived by: her children, Tommy McConnell (Audrey) of Damascus, VA and Brenda Shore Smith (Curt) of Laurel Bloomery, TN; and her children-in-law, Sam Carter of Damascus, VA and Linda McConnell of Radford, VA. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren, 2 great great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Et One Way Ministries (1004 S Shady Ave, Damascus, VA 24236). A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
