He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Herbert Cornett and Zona Bernice Cornett. He is survived by: his wife Marie Nunley Cornett; his sister Nancy Cornett Ratcliff (Don); his children, Greg Cornett (Kim) and Amy Caywood (Jon); and his grandchildren, Alex (Sawyer), Sarah (Isaac), Cole and Cade.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frost Funeral Home (250 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Park (21674 Monroe Rd, Damascus, VA 24236).
