It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Parker of Damascus, Virginia, born in Washington, Virginia, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emory Edmond and Eva Mae McCracken; her husband O. L. Parker; her stepdaughter Deborah Parker Buboltz; her stepgranddaughter Allyson; and her siblings, Mildred Bunn, Judy Zavarick, Shirley Rivera, Nancy Kestner, Dixie Carrier, Jimmy McCracken and Dean McCracken.
She is survived by: her daughter Robin Cavender of Damascus, VA; her stepchildren, Donna Parker Whitesides of Denver, NC and Rodney Morgan Parker (Tammy) of Catawba, NC; her granddaughter Kristin Cavender of Lillian; her stepgrandchildren, Michelle, Daniel, Morgan and Jason; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Lucas, Jacob, Colby, Jayden and Maxton; and her siblings, John McCracken, Nellie Latture and Jane Atkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
