He was predeceased by: his father Albert McConnell. He is survived by: his wife Diane McConnell; his children, William Bradley McConnell (Olga), Julia Dare Walker Rundle (Reuben), Brent Wood McConnell, Ray Bradley Huddleston (Beth) and Thomas David "Tommy" Huddleston (Teresa); and his grandchildren, Ava Knox, Milana McConnell and Matthew Huddleston.
Bill missed getting together with family and friends during the pandemic and his illness.
Bill loved flowers and definitely had a green thumb, so flowers are appreciated or donations can be made to Duke Cancer Center, 20 Duke Medicine Circle, Durham, NC 27710-2000.
