He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jean Simpson; his daughters, Desire, Jil Ross (Jonathan) and Earla Jones (Benjamin); his siblings, Leon Simpson (Delois), Marguerite McCrary, Mattie Denning (Walter), Mylon Simpson and Jerome Simpson; his siblings-in-law, James Fisher, Burma Weekley and Gus Pyles; his siblings, Tahira Lateef and Eugene Simpson; his nieces, Carla Wood, Loxi Armstrong and Ryla Palmer-Fisher; his goddaughters, Kim Bowens, Marshawnda Burke and Sandra Offett; and also, Leon and Mary Simpson (Carter). He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly and many foster children.
He participated in various activities with his favorite being the Christmas tree sale and the Tootsie Roll donation-drive.
