He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Ownby and Della Ownby. He is survived by: his wife Aline S. Ownby; his sons, Dennis (Kristin), Jason (Julie) and Michael (Kim); and his grandchildren, Morgan, Jason, Joey and Lexy.

Memorial contributions can be made to Jones Chapel Baptist Church or Cartersville Rescue Squad.
