He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Lewis and Percoria Venable Lewis; his siblings, Paul Lewis, Joshua Lewis, John Lewis, James Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Frank Allen, James Allen, Polly, Gertrude and Dorothy Lewis; and his siblings-in-law, James Trent, Jessie Trent, Leroy Laury, Dorothy, Francis and Anna Lewis.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Sherry Trent Mitchell, Charles Antonio Jackson, Jr., Brandon Jamar Jackson and Helena Margaret Trent; his wife Sallie Lewis; his daughters, Michele Hodges, Jessica Lewis (Love) and Sherry Mitchell; his sister Mollie Laury; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Brooks, Kathleen Jackson (Robert, Jr.), Claudette Trent and Lee Trent.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home (64 Cartersville Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church (919 Stoney Point Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040).
