It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David William Sloan of Cumberland, Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, David is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that David's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his wife Mimi Sutton Sloan; his daughters, Whitney Sloan Graham (James), Katherine Sloan (David) and Angela Sloan; his sister Sheila McLeod; and his grandsons, Jackson, Samuel and Hayes.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunkum Funeral Home (16923 Oak St, Dillwyn, VA 23936). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salem United Methodist Church (2160 Ca Ira Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040). A burial was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at the Salem Church Cemetery (2160 Ca Ira Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040).
