He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Reaves, Sr. and Lillie Jones Reaves; his wife Ruth Edna Stanton Reaves (Babe Ruth); his daughter Brenda Lynn Reaves Crenshaw; and his siblings, Josephine Clark, Lillie Cottoms, Mary Hackley (Polly), Martha Reaves, Robert Paul Layne, Hurley Woolen, Willie Reaves, Alfred Reaves Sr., Louis Reaves, Henry Reaves, Marshall Reaves, Jr., Sampson Reaves, James Reaves, Frank Reaves, Sr. and Irvin Reaves.
He is survived by: his children, Rev. Sanford Reaves Jr. (Lorraine), Charles Reaves (Pam), Bryant Reaves, Sandra Reaves-Yates (Edward Sr.) and Carolyn Reaves Richards (Leonard Sr.); and his grandchildren, Sanford Reaves, III, Lance Reaves, Shardonnay Reaves, Edward Yates, Jr., Tyler Yates, Marquetta Fowler, Jimmy Durrett, Sade Short, Brittany Reaves, Dr. Leonard Richards, Jr., Paul Crenshaw, Jr., Brandon Crenshaw and Micheal Helminski. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
