He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Jeanette Henderson Howard. He is survived by: his significant other Minnie E. Hackley of Culpeper, VA.; his children, Stephanie LaShawn Howard-Hackley, Otto Williams and Elizabeth "Jenny" Howard; his siblings, Deborah Samson, Rodney Howard and D'Artagnan Howard; his stepdaughters, Terri Pair and Barbara Stokes; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Reginald, Jahmeela Howard and Patrick Hart. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was also an organ donor and had requested that upon his death his eyes be donated so that others could read.
