It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Russell Lee Payne (Culpeper, Virginia), born in Washington, Virginia, who passed away on November 2, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George William and Annie Fincham Payne; his siblings, Luther, George William, Jack, James, Gladys, Lorena, Annie, Warren, Aileen and Fred; and the mother of his children Edna Johnston Payne.

He is survived by: his wife Dede; and his grandchildren, Thomas Lee Payne of Shannon Saulter, W. K, Jones (Tabatha) and Gregory Martin (Kaiulani). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers Lee would love for everyone to take time for a big ice cream cone (or better yet a banana split!) and to please take care of each other.
