He was predeceased by: his father Richard Edward Hitt; his brother Jason Hitt; and his niece Kaley Backe. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Rose Ramey; his sons, Eric Hitt and Ryan Hitt (Chelsea); his granddaughters, Adalene Hitt and Hazel Hitt; his siblings, Tinky Settle, Bubba Hitt (Amy), Penny Hitt (Doug), April Backe (John) and John Hitt; and his close friend Amy Estes.
