He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas William and Clara McFarland Settle; and his brother Silas William Settle, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hillery Settle; his daughter Hillery Williams of Charlottesville; his aunt Margaret Ann (McFarland); and his uncles, Ray Gore and James McFarland.

In lieu of flowers, remembrance gifts may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 6328 Hoover Rd, Reva, VA 22735, where Paul's family attended, and where Paul was baptized and married.
