He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene R. Stephens and Alice Lucille Lookabill Stephens; his wife Vera Catherine Ford Stephens; his daughter Jo Ann Cassidy; his grandson Coby Cassidy; and his brother John Stephens.
He is survived by: his daughter Gloria Haynes (Tom) of Martinsville; his siblings, George Stephens of Pinson, Douglas Stephens (Carolyn) of Culpeper, Jewell Haynes of Culpeper, Carrie Wilson (Paul) of Boyton, Nancy Stephens of Culpeper and Margie Holipski of Bristow; his sister-in-law Inge Stephens of Culpeper; his grandchildren, Tommy Haynes (Cathy), Joe Haynes (April), Michelle Malone (Jimmy) and Douglas Cassidy; his great grandchildren, Devyn Haynes, Joseph Luke Haynes and Anna Haynes; and his aunt Carrie Zowadski. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
