He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Lucille Downey; his son Thomas Chapin Downey; and his brother Patrick Downey. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Downey; his children, Christopher Ryan Downey and Theresa Erin Jenkins; his grandsons, Ethan Adam Jenkins, Gavin Mitchell Jenkins and Jackson Lane Helbert; his brother James Downey; and his sister-in-law Patricia Downey (Milton). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
