She was predeceased by: her daughter Gabrielle Rose Charlton; her grandson Sampson Heimdall Freeman; her parents, Thomas E. Colvin and Barbara Colvin; her brothers, John, James and William Colvin; her niece Summer Samantha Barrow; and her grandparents, H. H. (Jack), Carolyn Colvin, W. E. and Barbara James.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Marie Edmondson (Stuart Sponaugle), Robert Lee Charlton III (Anika Volkov), William Andrew Charlton and Janet-Susannah Michelle Charlton (Josh Freeman); her grandchildren, Leah Elizabeth Edmondson (Steven Simmons), Lacy Nicole Edmondson, Katherine Laney Edmondson, Nikoli Loki-Laufeyson Charlton and William Popper Sponaugle; her sisters, Patricia Colvin and Carolyn Colvin Helvey; and her brother-in-law Granger Helvey. She is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Janet's memory to the Johns Hopkins Department of Surgery in support of Stepping Stones Transplant Patient Assistance Program.
