He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Lee and Grace Vietta Heltzel (Heishman); and his siblings, Roy Heltzel, Renetta Helsley, Bessie Sherman and Esther Polk.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Heltzel; his children, Jamie Pittman (Jim), Kristi Woods (Gary) and Dennis Heltzel (Jean); his grandchildren, Lindsay Whalen (Kyle), Lauren Woods, Carly Heltzel, Lee Woods and Wesley Heltzel; and his great grandchild Lewis Grant Whalen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Culpeper Baptist Church.
