She was predeceased by: her parent Claude C. Herndon, Sr.; her husband David Vernon Thurston; and her siblings, Claude, Jr., Florence and Elizabeth.
She is survived by: her daughter Lou Ellen Thurston Miller (Michael) of Culpeper; her grandson Fielding Thurston Miller of Aspen, Colorado.; and her close friends, Patsy, Ron Frye, Jan, Wayne Carwile, Clark Taylor, Judy Gore and Kelli Wharton.
