He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Virag and Margaret Palancsa Virag; and his brother Thomas Virag. He is survived by: his wife Mariam Virag of Culpeper, VA; his children, Charles, Benjamin and Abigail; his stepdaughter Meghan Knittle; his stepgranddaughter Alexis Knittle; his brothers, Peter Virag and Edward Virag (Sharon); his nieces and nephews, Michael (Ashley), Daniel, Ryan and Maggie Virag; his uncle Alex Palmer (Pat); and his cousins, Rosemary, Kathy and Jeff. He is also survived by partner to his wife in raising the children.
