It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Dennis Payne Scott (Culpeper, Virginia), who passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Benton and Alice Viola Dennis (Zombro); her former husband Ralph "Bill" Payne; her husband Rufus Scott; her daughter Sheila Payne Aylor; her siblings, William Benton Dennis, Jr. (Jean), Ruth Beddingfield (Guthrie) of Virginia, Thomas Jackson Dennis (Eleanor), Warren Emerson Dennis (Mary), Gloria Viola Osteen (Thomas), Clarice "Lita" Henderson (Vernon), Colleen Hope Lewis (Cecil) and Richard Conway Dennis (Pat); her stepson Ray Scott (Sharon); and her stepdaughter-in-law Joyce Scott.
She is survived by: her daughter Lynda Payne (Donald Bryant); her grandchildren, Sarah Durham (Mike), R. Adam Racine (Julie), Y. Alice Racine (John Burnette) and Austin Racine; her stepgranddaughters, Virginia Scott and Jennifer Kincanon; her great grandchildren, Drew Durham, Emily Durham, Lucas Durham, Jackson Durham, Madeline Racine, Evelyn Burnette, Parker Racine and Jack Burnette; her son-in-law Davy Aylor; and her stepchildren, Mike Scott (Pat), Philip Scott, Bruce Scott (Terri), Ella Faye Heister and Clairene Jorella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
