He is survived by: his parent Willie Wood James; his wife Betty Jane Gibson James; his son Virgil Lee James III (Lee) of Crozet; his daughter-in-law Anne Oprandy James of Crozet; his grandchildren, Isabella Marie James and Haden Lee James of Crozet; his brothers, Ralph Downer James (Patricia) of Clifford and Gene Harvey; and his siblings-in-law, Rebecca Gibson Lively and James Gibson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
