She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Melton Steppe, Sr. and Edith Frances Steppe (Jackson) of Crozet, Virginia.; her brother Wilbert Melton Steppe, Jr. (Sarah); and her brother-in-law William Barbour, Sr.. She is survived by: her brothers-in-law, James "Rodney" Braxton and Arnold Jackson; her husband Roosevelt Wheeler Barbour, Jr.; her daughters, Edith Barbour-Hughes (Terrance), Rosetta "Lisa" Opie (Robert) and Charis Barbour; her siblings, Georgie Barbour, Charlotte Dooms (Wilson), Jackie Martin, Annette Jackson, Earl Steppe, Gary Steppe, Timothy Steppe and Reginald Steppe; her sister-in-law Janet Earl; her grandchildren, Mu Tasim, Dejah, Na Sib, Cyenna and Xaviera; her aunt Lelia Payne; and her cousin Anthony Steppe, Jr.. She is also survived by nine nieces, eleven nephews, many cousins and friends.
