He was predeceased by: his parents, George Spencer and Myrtle Spencer; and his brothers, Bill Spencer and Pie Spencer. He is survived by: his wife Mary Spencer (Fannie); his children, Mary Carol Bennett (Duane) and Mike Spencer (Jayne); his grandsons, Scott Spencer and D. J. Bennett; and his siblings, Sandra K. Spencer and Wayne Spencer (Joan). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks Cemetery Fund c/o Dickie Ingram 5267 W. Courthouse Road Crewe, Va. 23930.
