He was predeceased by : his former life partner Julia Brown Davis; his mother Mary Katherine Christenbury Davis; and his siblings, Robert H. Davis, Jr. and Charlotte Deane Davis Gunn. He is survived by : his children, Sharon E. Davis Santmyers (Jamie), R. Graham Davis (Amelia Davis) and Fred R. Davis, Jr. (Michelle); his grandchildren, Kaitlin M. Santmyers, Ryan W. Davis, William R. Davis and Christopher A. Davis; his siblings, Barbara Crispens (David) and Norman Davis; and his wife Suzanne. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crewe Baptist Church, Crewe United Methodist or Lions Club International.
