We are sad to announce that on March 27, 2025, at the age of 78, Cheryl Gay Brown of Crewe, Virginia, born in Omaha, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Cheryl Gay is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Cheryl Gay's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald L. Aken, II and Grace N. Aken; her husband Harold James Brown; and her brothers, Timothy Aken and Donald Aken III.
She is survived by: her children, Sherie Peterson (Loren) of Omaha, NE, Roger Brown (Cynthia) of Omaha, NE, Donna Brown of York, NE, Debora Brown of Central City, NE and Kathie Lightfoot (Christopher Brouillette) of Crewe, VA; and her brothers, Richard Aken (Shirley) of Omaha, NE and Gary Aken of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Staples Funeral Home (2300 Nottoway Blvd, Victoria, VA 23974).
