Though Betty Sue may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her mother Dorothy Mae Jones; her husband Douglas Oliver, Jr.; her children, Douglas Oliver, III, Clyde Oliver and Anita Oliver Johnson; and her mother Betty.
She is survived by: her children, Melvin Maurice Oliver (Myriam), Gwendolyn Kirby (Mark), Dolly Scruggs (Michael), Kendra Monroe (Michael) and Tammi Jones (Bobby); and her daughter-in-law Marion Oliver. She is also survived by several siblings, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the M. W. Hawkes Funeral Home (15001 Patrick Henry Hwy, Amelia Court House, VA 23002). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Dominion Worship Center (706 E Virginia Ave, Crewe, VA 23930).
