He is survived by: his father John Franklin Smiley, Sr.; his daughter Raven Wood (Jacob Coley) of Lynchburg; his brother Philip Craig Smiley (Kimberly) of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Ashton and Jaxson Coley; and his friend Betty Price of Staunton.
