He is survived by: his wife Susan Jackson Bookman; his children, William A. "Billy" Bookman of California and Amanda Odell of North Carolina; and his siblings, Donna Vickery of Clifton Forge and Tracy L. Bookman of Bonsack. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
