He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Byer, Sr. and Arletta Tingler Griffith. He is survived by: his wife Anita Bowen Byer of Covington; his children, Robert Cash (Caitlin) of Covington, Dustin Cash (Kellie) of Covington, Johnny Ward (Rachael) of Daleville, Darrian Tucker (Sheila) of Covington and Priscilla Malone (John) of Spruce Pine, NC; his grandchildren, Brady, Carper, Dillon, Savannah, Gracie, Quincy, Dixon, Chase, Cameron, Kaylee, Colton, Alice, Avery and Jenna; his siblings, Jaimie Griffith (Stacey) of Covington, Bruce Byer (Amy) of Covington and Misty Byer of Covington; his nephew Tyler Griffith; and his cousins, Davey Wright and Eddie Wright. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
