It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert King Bennett of Covington, Virginia, born in Huntington, West Virginia, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Justice Dewey and Betty King Bennett; his wife Dorothy Jean Leibee Bennett; and his siblings, Matt Bennett, George Bennett, Frances Anne Holman and Betty Jo Atkins.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Louise Bennett of Mechanicsville and Robert King Bennett, II (Cynthia Beamer Bennett) of Covington; his grandchildren, J. E. Bennett Dickerson (Rilee), Emily Louise Davis and Madison King Bennett; his great grandchildren, Pepper-Mae Louise and Forrest Edward Dickerson; and his sister Helen Kozee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Boiling Springs Fire and Rescue, 5407 Potts Creek Road, Covington, VA 24426 who were faithful to come numerous times to provide wonderful care.
