She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Payne Humphries, Sr.; her siblings, Andrew, Hansel, Lawrence Sheffey, Sarah Anne Clark, Zada Joyce and Zola Wright; and her great-grandparent Robert Sawyer Sheffey.
She is survived by: her children, Howard P. Humphries, Jr. (Becky) of Apex, NC, Joan Green (Mike) and Laura Persinger (David) of Covington; her sister Catherine Brown of Covington; her grandchildren, Lorraine Martin (Richard Lee), Bradley Persinger (Trisha), Nathan Humphries (Rachel), Michelle Craps (McKenzie), Patrick Doss, Michael Persinger, Leah Hathcote (Tyler), Luke Humphries and Shannon Johnston (Josh); and her great grandchildren, Emmalee Persinger, Shiloh Craps, Adalyn Persinger, Brooklyn Persinger, Jonathan Martin, Emery Craps, Wrenn Hathcote, Jasper Hathcote, Otis Hathcote, Ruby Humphries, Josiah Humphries, Aidan Raether and Braylon Johnston.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM and at 5:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM and at 6:00 PM.
The family suggest that memorial tributes in memory of Mildred Humphries take the form of contributions to Parrish Court United Methodist Church, 2343 S. Carpenter Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
