It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Brooks Barber of Covington, Virginia, born in Union, West Virginia, who passed away on July 9, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Brooks and Agnes Honaker Brooks; her children, Marcella Weade, Michael Weade and Malcolm "Sonny" Weade; and her sisters, Lucille Markham, Frances Burhenn and Vivian Pendleton.
She is survived by: her husband Bill Barber, Sr.; her children, Mandy Arritt (Jonathan) of Covington, Marjorie Weade of Covington, Mary Beth Weade of Covington, Billy Barber of Covington and Bobby Barber (Amy) of Athens, Alabama; her grandchildren, Melissa Sutton, Michelle Tellez, Michael Weade-Lane, Angel Robertson, Brandy Campbell, Landon Arritt, Eva Arritt, Jack Barber and Mackenzie Barber; and her sisters, Shirley Keith (J. E.) of Hampton and Velma Craft (James) of Covington. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
