It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leonard Andrews of Covington, Virginia, who passed away on September 28, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Massie Andrews and Hattie Wilson Peters Andrews; his sister Nellie Buchanan; his stepmother Anna "Betty" Watson Andrews; his parents-in-law, Delmar "Bert" Baker and Emma Plott Baker; and his brother-in-law Charles "Charlie" Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Baker Andrews; his children, Richard "Rickey" Andrews (Melinda) of Covington and Julie Andrews of Covington; his grandchildren, Steven Andrews (Tracy) of Roanoke, Courtney Andrews of Covington, Austin Tucker of Covington and Lakin Tucker of Covington; his great grandchildren, Kenzleigh, Brittney, Zymir, Greyson and Kiera; his godson Damien Hollenbeck; his brothers, Hershel Andrews of Covington and Larry Andrews of Covington; and his siblings-in-law, Berta Henning (Gus) of Vinton, Rebecca Mann of Clifton Forge, Susan Rock of Covington, Sandra Hernandez (Dan) of Roanoke and Richard Baker (Beverly) of Covington. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 10:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM and at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church (1200 N Alleghany Ave, Covington, VA 24426).
