He is survived by: his spouse Tamala Thomas Rice (Tammy); his children, Matthew D. Smith (Teresa), Wendy N. Rice (Morris) and Brandon L. Rice; his grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Maddisyn Smith, Halee Puffenbarger, Levi Rice, McKenna Morris, Michael Morris (Rhett) and Kimber Rice; his stepgrandchildren, Harper Harris, Matthew Morris and Kendal Morris; his sisters, Cindy Leigh Rice (James Nichols) and Christy Renee Rice Southall (Dewey) of Covington; his mother-in-law Cheryl Dianne Thomas; his siblings-in-law, William and Christine Thomas; and his close friends, Zac Skovira, Dave Carter, Britt Mays and William Clark, III (Tre).
